Snow is precipitation in the form of crystalline water ice, consisting of a multitude of snowflakes. Since it is composed of small rough particles it is a granular material. It has an open and therefore soft structure, unless packed by external pressure. Snow is commonly formed when water vapor undergoes deposition high in the atmosphere at a temperature of less than 0°C (32°F), and then falls to the ground.

Last week I found out I have a "pars fracture" in L5 - in other words my back is slightly broken! Nevertheless Allison and I had planned a kayak trip to Desolation Sound with Andrew and Colleen. So we decided to go for it despite my crippled condition.

Allison brought out the "guns" to help us keep up to our companions.

The weekend was filled with pretty flowers (causing Andrew some massive sneezing episodes) and beautiful sunsets. The first beer was usually opened by 11am.

After the 4th beer.

Hard core adventure enthusiasts? None here.

Red neck!? By this time all the beer was warm.

We spent an entire afternoon at this spot in the Curme Island group.

The water was warm and we had a couple of islands to ourselves.

Andrew enjoying sun-melted chocolate with Strawberries.

Andrew and Colleen at work in the Kitchen.

Allison pulling hard on the paddle - note the impressive bow-wake....

We did manage to spot a fair amount of wildlife. Numerous Bald Eagles, Hawks, Gulls etc. Starfish (here), Sunfish, Jellyfish, and other "fish".
